Chris Austin is a painter and sculptor from Toronto, Canada. His works focus heavily on the environment, the changes it is going through, and our place in that narrative. One of the most impressive aspects of Austinās work is his ability to generate and execute concepts at a prolific rate while maintaining an extremely high level of quality. In this series Austin has chosen to focus on heavily contemporary issues with some very clever references to the city the gallery exists within. One stand-out piece is āIn the Newsā which incorporates an āOregonianā news stand, which contains a copy with the headline āTrumpedā and is surrounded by crows. The newsstand is daubed with graffiti, including a wheat paste of Simpsonās character Nelson Munoz with trumpās head, wearing a tee shirt that says āBullyā. Perfect.
