We are delighted to share details with you for the latest solo show from fine art illustrator Jon MacNair. Jon has shown with Antler Gallery every year since we opened and is to this date the only artist to do so. We feel very honored to be able to showcase his incredible paintings. Working exclusively in india ink on paper Jon MacNair is a meticulous observer of his craft as well as a creative wizard. In his career to date he has constructed a multi-layered, infinitely compelling alternate world filled with an array of recurring characters. Those who are familiar with his paintings are able to plot a narrative through each series based on an understanding of the genesis and story of each. Those viewing it for the first time are offered a snippet of something grand, a breadcrumb which might lead them into a fantastical landscape if they’re willing take that first step. The narrative of this new body of work is centered around themes relating to personal loss and how we deal with the emotions it stirs both before and after the event.
