Neil M. Perry is an artist from the North East of England, living and working in Portland, Oregon. This series is his third body of work to be shown at Antler Gallery. Neil has always seen his work as a means of reflecting on and making sense of events as they unfold. In earlier works his focus was on the personal and more recently he has tended to focus on wider, societal issues. In this latest series, Or Barbarism, he is primarily concerned with the core conflicts that are currently encompassing socio-political relationships around the world. Using metaphor and symbolism he creates scenes that evoke the injustices of our current moment, the possibility of a better future and the tumultuous road that brings us there.
